How to make a Dam Royal Sloe Gin Fizz

As the Christmas period comes swiftly upon us, we’ve tweaked the classic sloe gin fizz recipe with the inclusion of our signature Dam Sloe Gin and a bit of bubbly.

Simple, sweet and refreshing, the sloe gin fizz is a true classic. As one of the most popular sloe gin cocktails today, this delectable drink holds an interesting history.

The sloe gin fizz was first referenced in the 1887 edition of Jerry Thomas’ Bartender’s Guide which featured six exciting fizz recipes. This classic cocktail became popular towards the beginning of the 20th century in America, particularly in New Orleans. By the 1960’s, the sloe gin fizz became internationally recognised and came to be one of the most adored sloe-gin based cocktails to date.

Our expert bartender, Phil Sanders, comments, “we’ve tweaked the classic sloe gin fizz recipe with the inclusion of our signature Dam Sloe Gin, and we’ve added a royal twist because it’s topped with bubbles. The addition of Lady Grey sugar syrup compliments the aromatics of the sloe gin while the citrus bite of the limoncello produces a slightly sour but fresh and floral seasonal taste.”
